South Korea Inflation Eases In February

(RTTNews) - South Korea consumer price inflation softened in February, data from Statistics Korea showed on Thursday.

The consumer price index rose 2.0 percent on a yearly basis in February, slower than the 2.2 percent rise in January. The rate came in line with expectations.

On a monthly basis, the CPI grew 0.3 percent, following January's 0.7 percent increase in January.

Excluding food and energy, core inflation eased marginally to 1.8 percent from 1.9 percent in January. Month-on-month, core consumer prices edged up 0.1 percent after a 0.5 percent gain.
